Leslie has shown the 1995 AQHA
World Champion in Sr. Trail, the 1996 Congress
Reserve Champion in the limited and open Hunter
under Saddle Futurity. She also showed the
1996 Congress Reserve Champion in the limited
and open Hunter under Saddle Maturity. Leslie
won the 1997 Congress Sr. Trail and the 1998
AQHA World Championship in Sr. Western Riding.
She also showed the 1998 AQHA High point western
riding and trail horse as well as the 1998
reserve all-around open horse.
1999 brought another AQHA Reserve
World Championship in Senior Western Riding.
In 2000 she showed the AQHA Honor Roll winner
in Western Riding. In 2001 she won the AQHA
World Championship in Junior Trail. Together
Tom and Leslie have had numerous other top
ten finishes at the AQHA World show and the
All-American Quarter Horse Congress.
Leslie and Tom have had clients
that have won at the Congress and at the AQHYA
Finals. They have also coached several AQHA
Rookie of the Year winners.
Leslie has also shown several
paints to titles at the APHA World Championship
Show including the 2004 APHA World Champion
in Senior Western Riding, and the 2003 APHA
Reserve World Champion in Junior Trial. She
and Tom have coached several students with
paints to top ten titles, including the 2003
AJPHA World Champion in Western Riding 14-18.
Leslie is a member of the AQHA
Professional Horsemen’s Association,
NSBA, NRHA, APHA, ApIIC, and USA Equestrian.
Leslie is an AQHA and NSBA judge and has judged
many shows including the AQHA World Show (1997),
The AQHYA World Show (2002), The European Championship
(1997), The Australian Championship, Texas
Classic, Florida Gold Coast, the Quarterama,
the West Coast Circuit, the Florida Gold Coast,
and the Congress (1999).
At the AQHA Convention in Anaheim,
Ca, March 2003, Leslie was elected to serve
as a Director for the American Quarter Horse
Association representing Colorado and the RMQHA.
She has served on the youth committee since
1992 and has currently been appointed to serve
on the Hall of Fame committee.
At the AQHA Convention in Reno,
Nevada in March 2004 Leslie was honored by
receiving the AQHA Professional Horsewoman
of the Year for 2003.
Leslie has been involved in
conducting the AQHA Judges workshops for several
series.
- 2002-2003 She and Jackie
Krshka did the showmanship and horsemanship.
She and Nancy Cahill did the Trail.
- 2000-2001 She and Jackie
Krshka did the western riding.
- 1998-1999 was the Showmanship & Horsemanship,
with Jackie Krshka. Also that year was the
Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation
on the flat with Carla Wennberg.
It all started in 1996 with
the Hunter Under Saddle that she did with Carla
Wennberg.
Leslie is currently serving
on the Board of Directors for the National
Snaffle Bit Association and also serves on
the Board of Directors for the Rocky Mountain
Quarter Horse Association. Leslie serves as
the chairman for the Hall of Fame and Youth
committee’s. She also serves on the Magazine
committee and the Futurity committee. She is
also chairman of the Gold Rush horse show committee.
Leslie also serves as the Quarter Horse representative
to the National Western Stock Show and she
also serves on the NWSS’s 100th Year
celebration committee. Leslie was recently
elected to serve on the Board of Directors
for the Western Stock Show Association that
governs the National Western Stock show, Rodeo & Horse
Show in Denver, Colorado in January of each
year.
